In 2007, Iowa County epidemiologists found an increase in suspected increased lead levels among children under the age of 10. I wrote an article for Marengo Publishing Corporation in December 2007 outlining the risk of lead poisoning among children, the causes of lead poisoning and the effects of lead poisoning in young children. Following the publication of the article, blood lead level testing for all children 10 years and younger increased by 54% from 2007 to 2008.
